In loving memory

In loving memory, originally uploaded by mdshivers.

Pat and Max are friends of mine that I met in Swizterland when I lived there. During breaks from school and work- I would stay with them. This was a wonderful time for me and really enjoyed their home away from home. Pat had such a spunk about her- just amazing.

They were a team- two peas in a pod. They have a loving family and really Bible believing people. They showed me so much about daily life, marriage, and good values.

Pat was diagnosed with Cancer December '05. She was fighting very hard and was coming out ahead. Unfortuntely though, she lost the battle.
She past away last weekend and her memorial was yesterday in Konoflingen, Switzerland.

What a sad time it is.

Cynthia McKinney

Our community has tried for 4 years to try and get a soundwall built. The builders of the community even stated that "one was coming". 4 years later still none. The say with a sound wall it would reduce the audio level by 50%. thats crazy. The area behind our house is very pretty- but the noise just overrides it sometimes.
Cynthia McKinney came over yesterday to give us an update on how the sound wall is coming. If all went well- the 5 million dollar wall could possibly, maybe, yeah right, be built in 2 years.

Her body guards were scraey looking. I thought they were going to ripp my camera away.

Smoke on the Water

Smoke on the Water, originally uploaded by mdshivers.

Its amazing that our trip to switzerland was 2 1/2 months ago. So much has happen since then- it feels like eternity. I miss the place deeply... i sometimes wish that I could do freelance full time and bring our family to all these exotic places and fellowship with wonderful people. I sometimes get that empty feeling when i am walking around my city. some areas here just don't care about community, beauty, excersiing, the outdoors, etc. you just get in your car - and blast the ac and music. i am still going through all my photos of my trip to europe during my free time. (which is none right now).
but i don't think is healthy to have the "grass is greener on the other side" mentality too. i can make a difference in my little world.
